TIPS is a national certification which you will obtain during your time with us. This is a skill-based training program that is designed to prevent intoxication, underage drinking, and drunk driving.

This course is designed to educate our students and train them in all facets of the responsible sale, service, and consumption of alcohol. TIPS will give individuals the knowledge they need to recognize potential alcohol-related problems before they occur.

What you’ll learn

While you attend the TIPS Class we will issue a temporary certificate to start seeking and obtaining employment you are not Licensed until your test is sent to the state of Texas to scan your scantron! The state of Texas processes ALL TIPS CERTIFICATION tests for the USA!

The law now requires all employees who either serve alcohol, prepare alcoholic beverages, or come in contact with any person who may have been drinking, to be certified in an ALCOHOL AWARENESS TRAINING (TIPS). This includes Hosts, Valets, Waitstaff, Bartenders, Bar Backs, Bussers, Managers, and Owners

General Laws, Titles 3, Chapter 3-7, section 3-7-61, Anyone who sells or serves alcoholic beverages, anyone serving in a supervisory position over those who sell or serve alcoholic beverages, anyone whose job description entails checking identification for the purchase of alcoholic drinks and valet parking staff shall receive Alcohol Server Training” within 30 days of employment.

Note: TIPS lectures and testing is a combination of the most current laws and regulations.

TIPS classes are held 2 Fridays a month from 9:45am - 2pm. We certify TIPS for RI, MA, and CT.
